Nicholas Jennett

Mr. Nicholas Jennett is Deputy Director General of the EIB, and Head of the Bank's Investment Team for Greece.  

Mr. Jennett was previously Head of the Bank's New Products and Special Transactions Department and responsible for a number of joint financial instruments on which the Bank and  European Commission cooperate including InnovFin, under the Horizon 2020 programme and the Project Bond Initiative. He was also responsible for the Bank’s equity fund operations.

He  has been with EIB for more than 18 years, the majority of this time working on project finance and other structured transactions in infrastructure and energy. He was also the founding Head of the European PPP Expertise Centre, a joint EIB/Commission/Member State initiative.

Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Jennett worked as a consultant, an economist in government service and a university teacher. He has degrees from the Universities of York and Keele, and the London School of Economics.

At the Athens Investment Summit, he will provide an overview of the EIB’s activities in Greece with an emphasis on the newly established task force. The Investment Team for Greece seeks to strengthen the relation with Greek banks and explore the prospects for private sector investment, particularly for SMEs, technology and research.
